Tournament Help Needed/Training Offered
Clock training for tournament (and beyond!)
We need some more volunteers for running the clock (time-keeping) and
keeping score
Wayde Whittaker will be at The RINK on Monday 12/1 from 6:15 - 8:15 and can
help teach people how to use the clock. Wayde or someone else from 12U can
demonstrate scorekeeping.
Brad Grainger will be at Cass on Wednesday 12/3 at 6:30 p.m. to teach clock
there. Brad or someone from 14U or 19U will demonstrate scorekeeping at this
time, too.
There will also be detailed instructions at both rinks for all off -ice
official activities - including running the clock.
Chuck - a - puck
Our Tournament theme this year is ducks! This year we will be doing Chuck -
a - duck. Instead of purchasing and throwing pucks on to the ice, we will
be 'selling' numbered rubber ducks.
If you've never played before, the ducks (or pucks) are thrown on the ice
during the short break between the 2nd and 3rd period of tourney games.
Spectators pay a dollar for their chances to try and hit the center faceoff
circle...the closest to the center gets half the money, and TGHA keeps half (thus
raising funds while adding interest to the tournament).
This is a great activity for our younger players to do with a parent or
older player/friend to assist them. There are still several slots open.
