Wear
Hockey Clothes Oct. 24!
If girls of all
ages wear their jersey or other hockey clothing items on Monday and Friday, it
raises the visibility of TGHA when we are encouraging girls to come to Try Girls
Hockey and Open House to consider joining us!
Parents and coaches can do the same at work or in the community as their hockey
clothes can be a reminder to talk up TGHA to the parents and friends of
potential new girls hockey players! It's worth a
try!
Potential
players can be added to this yahoogroup at any time
as a way to become in the loop with TGHA, or you can refer them to the web
site: www.ithacagirlshock
Monday
is Open House
Oct. 27
6:30
p.m. at The RINK
Open House brings together everyone
in TGHA for the kickoff of the season....or is it a faceoff?
All
newcomers and their parents attend and get to know continuing members of TGHA
and their families, and the entire coaching staff. Refreshments, door
prizes, music, on-ice fun, and off-ice rally!
Hockey
equipment isn't worn for Open House; no sticks or pucks will be in use.
Street clothes and hockey skates are the dress code although girls and coaches
on the ice can wear jerseys or hockey sweatshirts if they wish.
Beginners may be more comfortable with some safety equipment; elbow and shin
guards work well and/or their helmet.
Questions? Call Mary at 280-4380.

TGHA Wants Your [Spare] Hockey
Gear
Do you have any extra hockey gear? TGHA is always accepting donations to TGHA's equipment collection. This equipment is used by
players who are new to hockey and want to try the sport out without making a
big initial investment and by those who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford
new gear. From the IRS, "If you give property to a qualified organization
you generally can deduct the fair market value of the property at the time of
the contribution. TGHA is a qualified organization. TGHA can provide you
with a letter for your tax records, but we don't have any way to appraise your
donations. IRS Publication 526 has more info on charitable
contributions. Contact Louise Derraugh, 319
