This weekend is the annual women's hockey tournament at The RINK.  From Friday evening through Sunday mid-day, you'll find adult women playing hockey with teams from several states and two or three Ithaca-based teams.  Good luck to all who are playing!

IHS Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team Invites Local Girls to Learn to Play Clinics


The Ithaca High School Girls Varsity Lacrosse team is hosting a series of clinics for girls interested in learning about the sport.


The first clinic is Sunday May 10, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.on the high school athletic fields on N.Cayuga Street. This free clinic is open to girls ages 4 to 12. All skill levels welcome. Participants will need to bring a lacrosse stick, goggles, a mouthguard and athletic shoes.Little Red players and coaches will lead drills and games.


The team will host a mini-camp from May 17 to May 21 for girls in grades 1-6.The cost is $50, and it will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday May 17 and from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on all other dates.


A third option is a camp for grades 1-10 will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. June 29- July 3.There is a $75 fee.

There is pre-registration for the May 10 clinic, but it is necessary to register for the other two.  Visit

Three Ithaca 19U Shooting Stars play for the IHS Girls Lacrosse team: Katie Long, Erin Grainger and Colleen Dillon.  Coach Eisenhut has always liked the similar stick handling between the two sports and how the skills cross over!
