Next Board Meeting

Come one come all to the next TGHA Board meeting on Tuesday, April 7 at 7:00 p.m. at the Cayuga Heights Fire Station Meeting Room

TGHA's summer hockey program is one of the things that will be discussed, and the Nominating Committee will report.  This is when plans begin for next season!  All are welcome to participate in these open meetings.

Ithaca High Team Faces Elimina tion

You may have read that the ICSD Superintendent's proposed budget includes many serious cuts due to the economic situation including IHS Girls Varsity Ice Hockey team.  The current coach and team is having a meeting on Sunday to make a strategy to advocate against the cut. Past and future players who would like to participate in the advocacy can contact Mary Grainger.

Skating Opportunities at The RINK

The RINK has year round ice.  While TGHA does not run a year round  program, there are ways to keep skating.  Families with beginning skaters may find it's fun to go to Public Skating and it helps the girls get more comfortable on their 'edges'. The Ithaca Hockey Academy's spring offerings are coed at most age levels, and older girls can skate with the early morning Adult Open Hockey since it is non-checking.  Skate and Shoot is another way to stay active with hockey without making a major commitment (since it's time for spring sports!).  The March and April calendars show numerous time slots.  Visit wwwtherink.org.

Ice Magazine is New
