Take photos on Fri or Sat for your own photo album or send to tgha0809@yahoo.com for the TGHA web site.

If friends ask about how to get involved with TGHA, smile and encourage them to visit your next practice and check out www.ithacagirlshockey.com

Sat. 2/14  Bring a friend to the rink...any rink! See above for the 12U, 14U and Cornell women's games so you can go and cheer on local girls and women; or see the 19Us playing in the Syracuse area Sat or at home on Sunday.  Ithaca High boys have an 8:00 p.m. game at The RINK, too.

Attend the Cornell women's game for FREE and cheer on our Initiation and House girls who will play a mini-game between the first and second periods of this game!

Sun. 2/15 Celebrate local hockey heroes
Players, parents and coaches are encouraged to write a short essay (as short as 25 words or as many as 250!) about their Local Hockey Heroes and submit to tgha0809@yahoo.com by Friday Feb. 13.  Consider writing about current or former TGHA coaches, players, parents, leaders...or about heroes associated today or in the past with Cornell women's hockey, Ithaca High, USA Olympics, etc!

Depending on the number of submissions, there will be a message to the TGHA All email list listing all of those n amed with some amount of descriptive information pulled from the essays.  Our Local Hockey Heroes could later become a bulletin board display or section of our web site.  If there are volunteers interested in this project, let Mary know, 280-4380.

Initiation and House Announcement

Initiation and House girls will be playing a short game during the first intermission of the Cornell women's game against Dartmouth this Saturday.  The varsity game begins at 4 pm in Lynah Rink.  Players need to come with their jerseys on and be dressed by the start of the game so that TGHA coaches can assemble lines.  Players may use the locker rooms by the skate rentals to get ready.  After players have double-checked that they have all of their equipment and have checked in with the coaches, they may watch the first 10 minutes of the varsity game.  They can watch from behind the visiting goalie if they are in their skates, or in the stands if they keep their shoes on.  All players need to be back in the locker room with full gear on when there are seven minutes left in the first period.  If you have any questions or concerns, please email Coach Becky Cameron at
rsw274@gmail.com prior to Saturday.  If you need to get in contact with her on Saturday, call her cell at  607-591-1424 .

Don't forget to Bring a Friend to the Rink!!

"Olympic" Hockey Camp

Dear Parents,

The summer of 2009 is going to be the best yet for the GIRLS OLYMPIC ICE HOCKEY CAMP with ProAmbitions! I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know that over the last three summers ProAmbitions Hockey, Inc. has taken over the top spot in the female hockey school market.

I am a medal winning Olympian from the 2006 Olympic Winter Games. And, I am happy to convey that what sets our camp apart from the rest is our staff of coaches and mentors.  Each of our female staff members has exceptional playing credentials and each is now currently coaching at various prep schools & colleges throughout New England.   Current NCAA Div. 1 college hockey players round out our staff of instructors and are training along side your daughters' both on and off the ice daily.

We will again be offering a one, or a two-week option to attend the GIRLS OLYMPIC ICE HOCKEY CAMP at Kents Hill Prep School in Kents Hill, ME.  This is a tremendous facilit y for both on and off ice training. The on-ice curriculum (4 hours daily), and the off-ice training (2 hours daily) will be both challenging, and fun again this summer. The drills, exercises, and teaching points will be focused on making your daughter a better athlete and a better competitor.  She will learn techniques in training and skating that you will be able to take home and master!

In Kents Hill, Maine we enjoy swimming at the lake each and every day, as well as getting off campus and seeing the occasional movie. Along with our stick handling and shooting gallery - this year we will have roller hockey as well.

Please view our separate GIRLS OLYMPIC ICE HOCKEY CAMP coupon that I have attached to this email. Also, please check out our web site for sign up information...  http://www.proambitions.com/bdcamps_girls.htm

I hope to KICK ICE with you, and your GIRLS this20summer!

Sincerely,
Kim Insalaco
