Cold Weather Tonight

Check the weather report for specifics but it is predicted to be cold again tonight and coaches will adjust practice activities accordingly.  There are many ideas for increasing the girls comfort including light gloves inside of their hockey gloves, warm headbands under helmets, and tights under hockey=2 0pants.

Chocolate Sale Update

The chocolate fundraiser is in full swing, with orders due to your team manager by Monday, February 9th.  This is a great chance to help TGHA and support scholarships, equipment loans, and other TGHA activities and events.  All you have to do is buy the bars from TGHA for $30 per case (30 bars), then sell them for $1 each.  You get your money back, so in the end there is no cost to you.  TGHA makes a profit of 50% from every case you buy!  Forms have been distributed to team managers, and can also be found on the website.  If you have any questions please contact Liz Wood at lizwood@twcny.rr.com or 607-539-6029.

P.S. Some have said they can sell the bars for more than $1 each since it's for a good cause like TGHA.  If you do this, or are given additional donations, send the additional funds to Liz by way of your team manager!

Next Board Meeting

TGHA Board Meetings are open to all!

If you have questions about the ag enda, contact Dave or Mary (see leadership list below or on the web site)

Hockey Weekend Across America

The NYSAHA, in conjunction with USA Hockey, will be celebrating the second annual “Hockey Weekend Across America” from February 13-15th, 2009.  Hockey Weekend Across America, presented by Reebok, is an initiative led by USA Hockey to celebrate the game and all those involved in the sport at all levels, while also sharing hockey with new audiences.

Each of the three days of Hockey Weekend Across America has a theme, including Friday’s (Feb. 13) Wear Your Favorite Hockey Jersey; Saturday’s (Feb. 14) Bring a Friend to the Rink; and Sunday’s (Feb. 15) Celebrate Local Hockey Heroes. Organizations at all levels, including the NHL, American Hockey League, ECHL, NCAA, United States Hockey League and North American Hockey League are participating in Hockey Weekend Across America.

In addition to these themed events, Fans will have a chance to win one of 45 Reebok EDGE authentic National Hockey League jerseys during Hockey Weekend Across America's Great Jersey Giveaway.  Fifteen prize winners each day during Hockey Weekend Across America will receive their favorite NHL jersey from Reebok.  Entry is open to U.S. citizens ages 13 and older and those eligible may register one time only at HockeyWeekendAcrossAmerica.com, between 12 noon MT on Wednesday, Jan. 7, and 11:59 p.m. MT on Thursday, Feb. 12.
