Share the Warmth

Rotary Clubs in Ithaca are collecting new and lightly used winter outer-wear through Dec. 2 for distribution to local families.  There is a large wood crate in the lobby of The RINK marked "Share the Warmth".  Children's clothing (coats, hats, snowpants, gloves, boots) are especially sought.  Consider helping this campaign when you are at The RINK before Dec. 2.  (Note: teams visiting Ithaca for the tournament are also being asked to participate if they can.)

Why Visit the Tournament?

Besides watching exciting girls hockey games and cheering on the Shooting Stars, there are other reasons to attend this weekend.

The tournament is a fundraiser for TGHA, and it brings economic activity to our area--with 24 teams competing that's over 300 girls and their coaches and family members!

For example, if you have never played Chuck A Puck, you are missing out!  It occurs between the second and third periods of all games at The RINK.

The RINK lobby is also where you can find the items being raffled; tickets are purchased and then placed in the container that corresponds with the items you would like to win. Two tickets to the Cornell men's game on Friday are among the prizes.  There are Cornell women's hockey and USA Olympic prizes as well as a wide variety of useful and fun items.

Coffee Sales Update

Hi everyone,

TGHA sold 112 pounds of gimme! in our first round of coffee fundraising.  We made almost $400.00!!! Nine players/families were able to achieve this!!! What will happen when every player/team contributes to this wonderful fundraising event?!?!! We'll be able to finance many improvements to our programming. Our loaner equipment can be upgraded (remember that first helmet???)... scholarship assistance enhanced... uniform replacement funds can be initiated... and special event costs will be covered.

There's a lot to do off ice in addition to TGHA's excellent on ice experience. Please download some gimme! forms from the website, www.ithacagirlshockey.com or ask me. You can even email orders to me homesweethome@fltg.net if arrangements for payment can be made. The deadline for placing orders is Tuesday, 12/04/07... so please ask friends/family/co-workers/ ice hockey fans...now!

These one pound bags of locally roasted gourmet coffee are an excellent gift idea and a delicious treat for coffee drinkers. Please sell some gimme! and help TGHA grow. Prizes will be awarded at season's end to the top 3 sellers!!!

Questions? Please call, Barbara Horton, 607-227-8897.

Thanks!
