New Board Members/Leaders
After the May 1 Board Annual Meeting with elections, two
openings remained. On June 12, Karen Muckstadt and Catherine
Van Brunschot-Dunk were elected for two year terms.
Welcome to them and to other new board members John Golay and Wayde
Whittaker!
Board members then discussed their interests and
experiences and how they each wished to serve TGHA during the upcoming
year. Below is the list of TGHA leadership positions and who will fill it
for 2007-08 season. Stay tuned for another message about various
non-board positions that also need volunteers!
*Carol Mullins, Richard Goldstein and Michelle Mogil will
be staying involved at least through the summer to assist with transition.
Coaches Named
As announced in May, TGHA will have the following teams for
2007-08 (note Recreation has been brought back to the TGHA program after
several years):
19U Travel
16U Travel
14U Travel
12U Travel (or 13U depending on player numbers)
Recreation (for middle and high school girls who have
played at least one year)
House (for elementary and middle school girls who have
completed Initiation)
Initiation (for beginning hockey players)
Outgoing President and Coach Carol Mullins had collected
the interest of potential coaches; some who have the appropriate USA
Hockey training to coach at their level and others who need more training
before they can be named 'coach' by TGHA.
The Board wanted to announce a contact name for each team
if a qualified head coach hasn't yet been identified. Feel free to direct
your questions to the team coach/contact or the appropriate vice president
or TGHA leader.
Head coaches will select their assistants including from
those who have already placed their names for consideration.

Adult Women Extend Program
The Wednesday evening women's league concludes this week
after four teams played each other once a week at The RINK. A number of
TGHA girls played on a team or played as a 'sub'. The women's league
organizers have purchased ice to extend weekly skates into the summer but
without the two game team format.
TGHA players who are 12 and older are invited to these
scrimmages at Lynah on Wednesdays from 8-9pm for the following dates:
July 11th and 18th (not the 25th because of the adult women's hockey camp)
August 8, 15, 22, 29 (ice on the 22nd is 7:30-8:30)
Cost is $10 (pay as you go). We'll see how the first week goes and then
make any necessary modifications (like requiring an email heads-up if you
plan on attending).
