TGHA Board Meeting Tuesday

Tuesday, June 3 at 7:00 p.m., Cayuga Heights Fire Station at Community Corners

One more board position is open. Sometimes two individuals or a couple will share a board position. If you would like to discuss this, contact Mary or Matt asap.

This meeting will include reorganization of the board and planning for the next season. It's a great time to get involved with TGHA!

Take Action-Advocate with USA Hockey

USA Hockey Congress annual meeting begins this week in Colorado. One of the proposals they will be considering is to add a Girls Tier 2 national tournament.  Tier 2 has been growing across the country as well as in New York State. If you think it's important that Girls Tier 2  have a national tournament (as Tier 1 has), please send an email before Wednesday to jeppolit@twcny.rr.com.

Service League Thrift Shop

The Service League is a nonprofit organization which operates a "gently used" clothing shop, staffed by volunteers. The Shop was founded by six local women and opened for business in 1949. In 1960 the Shop moved to its present location in the lower level of the Women's Community Building, 104 West Seneca Street, Ithaca.

The Service League accepts "gently used" clothing and footwear on consignment and donation for resale. After careful consideration of grant applicants, the Board distributes proceeds to nonprofit organizations in Tompkins County.

The Service League is staffed with approximately 100 volunteers and is always looking for new volunteers. We welcome men and women of all ages who are interested in performing a service for the community.

For additional information or if you are interested in volunteering, telephone the Shop at (607) 272-2120 and leave a message for the Volunteer Coordinator.

Consignors & Donors

The Shop accepts 10 items/week from a consignor and/or family. The consignment period is 4 weeks. Items not sold within the period can be reclaimed or they become property of the Shop. The consignor receives two-thirds of the selling price. (The Service League retains one-third) Donations are accepted, but must meet the same criteria as consigned clothing and footwear. Accessories accepted only as donations: belts, bras, gloves, hats, hosiery, mittens, purses, scarves, ties, and underwear.

Customers

The Shop has a selection of seasonal clothing for infants, toddlers, preteens, juniors, women in a full range of sizes, men and boys. Newly consigned items are priced and hung on the racks twice a week. Brand names may include Pendleton, Liz Wear, GAP, London Fog, Talbot, etc. The Shop provides dressing rooms.
