TGHA Teams for 2008-09
At the
recent TGHA Board Meeting, two votes were taken. First the board voted to support a 19U
tournament bound team for 2008--09, and secondly the board voted to announce
the intent to have travel teams at the 12U, 14U and 16U age levels, too. These teams are in addition to our plan to
offer Initiation, House and Recreation hockey for girls of all ages, too.
In the
near future, there will be news of coaches for the travel teams. Coach
Education courses are advisable for all who are interested in helping with any
of TGHA programs. Watch here for news of courses for Level 1-4 coaches; TGHA
pays for coaches to participate.
Summer Skates with TGHA
Registration
for TGHA Summer Skates will occur this spring, but we want everyone to know the
plan includes younger girls on the ice for appropriate activities followed by
older girls and travel team members. We
have RINK ice on Mondays from July 21 through August 25 starting at 6:00 p.m.
More details and fees will be announced soon by David Herrick who has offered
to be 'registrar'. All skaters and
coaches need to be USA Hockey registered players but they do not need to be
regular TGHA members. Spread the word!
Spring Women's Hockey
The
Ithaca Women's Hockey League season has begun and they encourage all girls and
women aged 14 and older to participate as full time, part time or sub
members. Games are Sunday (8:30) and
Wednesday (9:15) evenings at The RINK. Do not just show up as there are rosters
and team captains who know when subs are needed ($13.00 per game). Please
