TGHA Annual Meeting

Was Scheduled for Tuesday April 24
Now Changed to Tuesday May 1

7:00 p.m. Official Annual Meeting of Tompkins Girls Athletic Association
7:15 p.m. Board Meeting of Tompkins Girls Hockey Association
Cayuga Heights Fire Station at Community Corners

(Before the TGHA meeting at which board elections are slated to occur, there will be a 7:00 p.m. meeting of TGAA. Tompkins Girls Athletic Association is our corporate nonprofit 501c3 entity which must have an annual meeting.  All in TGHA are welcome at both gatherings.)

Summer Hockey, Next Season Planning, Upcoming Elections

TGHA Board Meetings occur through the spring and summer as plans need to be made for next season.  Stay tuned for news of coach selection, team formation, fees, etc. and for TGHA's summer hockey program.

Parents and other adults (even 19U players qualify!) are needed for the TGHA Board and for the other volunteer roles with TGHA.  Contact Carol (342-1475) or any board member to learn more, and watch here for more details.  www.ithacagirlshockey.com

TGHA can only successfully serve the interests of the girls hockey community if adults are involved with the operations.  If everyone pitches in with team support, fundraising projects, coaching, board roles, etc.  no one is overworked.  Please consider attending Monday's meeting or letting us know how YOU will help next season.  Since Carol is away this weekend, feel free to reply to this email or contact Matt Ulinkski at 257-5600 with questions or offers to get more involved.

Move Smart, Play Smart, Eat Smart

Girls in grades 1-8 are invited to join the fun as they learn to keep fit, stay safe and eat well, all in an interactive environment. The first of the two-part series, Move and Play Smart, takes place Saturday, May 19  at Boynton Middle School from 1-5 p.m.  The afternoon for girls and their adult partners will feature  creative dance movement with an instructor from the Ithaca Community School for Music and Arts; Dance, Dance Revolution; cup stacking, double Dutch jump roping and instructors from the Community School of Music and Arts in Ithaca. Admission for the entire series is $10 per girl, or $5 per session. Adults with girls are free.   Eat Smart will happen on Saturday, June 23.   Location to be announced.
The series is sponsored by the Girl Scouts-Seven Lakes Council, Inc., a United Way agency.   Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.  Girls do not have to be Girl Scouts to attend the series, but will have the opportunity to join the organization.  For more information, visit www.girlscoutssevenlakes.org or call 800.448.6954, ext. 714 to register.
