Correction to Wednesday's TGHA All message:
 
Initiation and House will be together on Sunday 3/11 at 12:45 p.m. at Cass Park.  Cornell Big Sisters are also coming for this fun final skate of the year!
 
No news on who will be using the 2:00 p.m. RINK ice time; any one who would like to use it, can contact TGHA Ice Scheduler Dave Herrick, dherrick@twcny.rr.com

In June of 2000 the New York State Amateur Hockey Association named their scholarships after its long time President and current Director Emeritus, Bob Allen.

Each year at the Annual Meeting of the New York State Amateur Hockey Association four scholarships are awarded to High School or Prep School Seniors going on to college. The scholarships are awarded based on the individuals participation at school, with their community, and involvement in youth sports. The Scholarships are for $1000 each and given directly to the winners upon verification of enrollment at college.

Deadline for submission is April 1, 2007

2007 Bob Allen Scholarship Application
For
 High School or Prep School Seniors
 
 
Bob Allen Scholarships:    Four (4) scholarships of $1000.00 each
 
Eligibility:      1.  Senior in a New York High School, or a New York State resident attending a Prep school
                    2.     New York State Amateur Hockey Association member (past or present)
                    3. Plan to attend a four-year, two-year, or vocational school full-time  (12 credit hours or more).
 
Guidelines:    1. Application must be postmarked prior to April 1, 2007 to Doug Ackley                              5  Rosebrier Ave., Massena NY 13662. Application must be typed or printed neatly.
                   2.  Provide three (3) recommendations from people that are not members of  your family.        
                     Use  the forms provided.
                    3.  Submit most recent high school transcript with application.
 
Evaluation Criteria (Points will be awarded for number of years in each activity):
1.  Academic status
2.     Number of years as a member of NYS Amateur Hockey
3.     Scholastic Honors/Awards
4.  Curricular and extracurricular activities
5.  Positions of leadership held
6.  Community related activities
7.  Letters of recommendation
8.  Applicant essay
