Board Meeting Tonight
Volunteers Needed

I want to let everyone know that we will be having a board meeting tonight Wed. April 7 at 7:00 at the Rink. We are in need of a Secretary and Board Member at large for next year. We also need a Social Chairman, this involves organizing volunteers for the open house and banquet, Fundraising Chairman, this involves finding fundraising
opportunities and implementing them, and a Sponsorship chairman, this involves sending out letters and contacting area businesses asking for donations. We need to fill these positions. If you would like to get involved we would love to help you.

Thanks
Kim

April Is National Youth Sports Safety Month
>
> Each April, the National Youth Sports Safety Foundation (NYSSF) mounts an
> awareness campaign to inform the public about preventing injuries in youth
> sports. Past campaigns have focused on topics such as pre-participation
> physicals, individual risk factors, coaching education, eating disorders,
> safety equipment, and emotional injuries.
>
> This year, the focus will be on building awareness about the most current
> youth sports safety resources. For more information on the event, and to
> find resources, visit NYSSF's website at <http://www.nyssf.org>.
>
> For a National PTA resource on preventing youth sports injuries, read
> "Children, Sports, and Injuries: What Parents Should Know," which looks at
> the increasing trend in youth sports injuries and ways to prevent them.
> The resource addresses
>
> * Injuries caused by overuse and growth spurts
> * Pre-sports physicals
> * Coaching certification
> * First aid
> * Equipment and facilities
