Looking for a Hockey Camp?
American Hockey Magazine had many ads for camps in a recent
issue. I have brochures for some, feel free to ask me by phone or
email. Coaches may also have brochures and/or opinions if you ask
them.

Workshop for Parents of Adolescent Girls:
Middle school girls who attend sister2sister 2004 on Saturday
March 20 will arrive about 9:30 a.m. for the 10:00 a.m. program
start. Adults who accompany them and other adults are welcome to
attend the keynote presentation by Michelle Courtney Berry, but
they are not part of the rest of the event which runs until 3:30
p.m.
However, they can participate in "Visions of Her," a 90 minute
free workshop facilitated by Rhonda Morton for parents, teachers,
counselors, and other adult friends of middle school girls. It
will offer the interested adults an opportunity to learn more
about the bio-psycho-spiritual aspects of the teenage years and to
reinforce a positive vision of this important phase in a girl's
life. As part of the workshop, participants will use the arts as
a process of self-discovery. Absolutely no artistic talent or
experience necessary.
Rhonda is the founder of "GirlSmarts?," a series of workshops and
retreats for teenage girls. Since 1997, she has worked with
hundreds of teenagers, giving them the opportunity to affirm their
most powerful, most authentic, most alive self through stories,
improvisational dance, two- and three-dimensional artwork, and
journal writing. She also has studied the bio-psycho-spiritual
aspects of the female brain/body, especially during the teen
years. As a Corning-based poet, performance artist, dancer and
singer with a particular interest in improvisation in all those
roles, Rhonda believes in the transformational power of
creativity-in-the-moment.
