Cub Club Celebrating 10th Anniversary

Since 1996 Cornell women's ice hockey players have been 'big sisters' with the youngest Tompkins Girls Hockey Association members through the Cub Club program. The Cornell Big Red and TGHA are planning an anniversary celebration on Saturday Feb. 11 during the Cornell women's game at
4:00 p.m. vs. St. Lawrence University at Lynah Rink and after the contest.   All current members of TGHA and their families are invited to join the celebration of this unique nationally-recognized program.

TGHA is seeking women and girls who have particpated in Cub Club between 1996 and 2006.  We are trying to local all former TGHA members and Cornellians as well as their famillies. Please tell any former participants to contact current Cub Club chair David Herrick for more details of the events, 277-1414, dherrick@twcny.rr.com.

NBC To Televise 16 Olympic Women's Games
Granato, Mleczko Join Broadcast Team
Compiled by USCHO Staff

NBC has announced its 2006 Winter Olympic television schedule featuring live coverage of all preliminary and medal round women's hockey games.

The gold medal game will be presented live on NBC, Monday, Feb. 20. All
U.S. games prior to the final will be televised on the USA Network. All other games not featuring the U.S. will be televised on CNBC or MSNBC.

Mike Emrick (play-by-play) will pair with two-time Olympian A.J. Mleczko (Harvard '99) as the lead team on women's games, with Pierre McGuire reporting.

Bill Clement, the former NHL All-Star and "NHL on NBC" host, will host hockey coverage on USA, MSNBC and CNBC, his fourth Olympic broadcast assignment and third for NBC. Long-time
U.S. captain Cammi Granato (Providence '93) will work with Clement for women's games.

The
U.S. roster features six players with remaining collegiate eligibility, and 10 players who graduated from a U.S. college since the last Olympics. The Canadian roster features four players with remaining collegiate eligibility, and six other alumni of U.S. colleges. Across the two premier Olympic rosters, Harvard is the school best represented with six veterans. Minnesota, Brown, and Dartmouth each have five. All of Minnesota's Olympians play for the U.S.
