DECEMBER NEWSLETTER

President’s Message
Rosie Mayer, 257-2621, rma@twmlaw.com or silicianos@aol.com
Holiday greetings to you all! It hardly seems like December, with our continuing balmy fall temperatures. You have to go into a hockey rink to feel any chill in the air!
Thanks to Jeff Scott and Michelle Mogil for their fundraising efforts this fall. They're wrapping up the coffee sales. We still have the Cornell Hockey tickets for December 8, if anyone wants an additional fundraising opportunity. Tickets will be available at practices this week.
We'll be having team and individual pictures for the 19U and 15U teams on Tuesday, December 4, and for our other programs on Monday, December 10 (see the schedule in this newsletter). Get in touch with me or your team coordinator if you have any questions.
We're finalizing our team sponsors, and hope to soon have sponsor names on our Initiation, Recreation and House team jerseys. If you have any connections with any businesses who would like to sponsor one of these teams please contact me as soon as possible. The cost is $400 for a full team sponsorship, travel teams are $600, and “Friends of TGHA” can donate any amount. Thanks!!
The next big event for our association will be the Silver Stick tournament the weekend of January 18 - 21. Chuck Tauck has been hard at work this fall doing a lot of the preliminary work for the tournament. We'll have a team from as far away as Virginia! Last year's tournament was a huge success, and we'll need a lot of help to put on another terrific tournament. We'll have some more specifics requests for help as the tournament draws nearer, but if you'd like to help out in the meantime, please contact your team coordinator, Chuck or me.
Our teams run best with the help and involvement of as many parents as possible. Thanks to our parent coaches, team coordinators, and others who help. If you'd like to be more involved with your daughter's team, please contact your team coordinator or me.
Our next board meeting will be on January 2, 2002 at 7 pm at the Rink.
Happy Holidays to you all!!

Initiation Update
The group is smaller than we had originally had hoped for but the kids enthusiasm, interest and good spirits are fantastic. If you know of anyone else interested in
joining the fun we have on Mondays and Thursdays have them speak with one of the coaches. We have started with the basics and will continue to move forward as the
weeks progress to scrimmages and eventually "games" by late winter. The coaches are all very pleased with the attitudes of all of the kids. They have been fantastic. If you have
any questions please ask.
Thank you for your support.
Tony Eisenhut for the Initiation Coaches

House League
The season is well underway. The format for Monday games and Thursday practice is settled. It seems to be working well. If you have any thoughts to improve the
on ice experience for the girls please speak with Tony Eisenhut. The coaches are very pleased with the enthusiasm and hard work that has been shown so far. Our focus will be
to run a high tempo practice on Thursday to insure that as many skills as possible are worked on. There is a full team of coaches this year. Each making a substantial commitment of time weekly for less than minimum wage. I am very appreciative of their help and if you have a chance thank them as well.
Enjoy the games, enjoy the practice and enjoy your success. See you at the rinks.
